Masha and I were tired this morning. They others went to the orph. We had a cup of tea and some quiet time. We waited to go to the store until they returned.
We cooked spaghetti for lunch. The birthday girl opened her presents. We sang happy birthday and ate cake and ice cream. They watched movies. We had a fairly quite day. This was the first day here that it was just us. We went back to the store and bought shrimp and potatoes. We made salad, fried potatoes and shrimp with crab sticks. Just what she wanted for dinner. We did have to go to the big grocery store to find shrimp. None of the smaller ones had them.
I know the boy ate at least 4 bannanas today. Yes, we bought more. The youngest ate at least 2, probably more. For the oldest we bought a big bag of apples. She carried them and the cake all the way back to the apt.
She said it was her first real birthday. She does not remember ever having a party. Between meals she came and hugged on me for awhile. I told Ricky to get me tissue. So, yeah, I cried a little. I had prayed we would make it for her birthday. I thanked God for the gift He had given to me to allow me to give her a special day.
She played on the tv with her High School Musical game.
The boy and little one were getting roudy. I sent Ricky out with them to play. They played soccer with some boys outside. All the boys came in muddy.
To those who come after us: I learned in spring the hottest part of the day is between 9-10:00 a.m. So that explains why yesterday I went out and assumed it would be nice all day. Instead after 10 it gets colder. Lesson learned. I learned even though there are sharp knives in the kitchen. I am thrilled I listened and packed (in checked luggage) a good peeling knife. I am glad I brought wash rags. One for our feet, before putting on shoes. One for a hot pad. I am glad I brought some towels. One for the kitchen for clean dishes.
I was glad to have a quiet day with just our family. Not what I had planned but what I think the birthday girl loved.
Some paperwork should be done tomorrow.
Hopefully meeting on Tue or Wed. Praying for court date soon.
